Vacation

Parents, Chris, and I met in Destin, FL for a week of fun in the sun. We stayed at a little condo that we had previously stayed at twice before. It’s a perfect sized place for us. One bedroom, one bath, bunk beds in the hall for Chris & I, and a fully furnished kitchen. Anyhow, the first few days were the same relaxing routine: eat breakfast, go to the beach for 2-3 hours, come back to condo’s pool, eat lunch, chill out for a few hours, have dinner, and sleep.

The rest of the week slightly varied.

On Tuesday, dad and I went fishing on a 5hr group charter. There were 8 of us on the boat and of course dad and I caught the most ;) We mostly caught red snapper. Dad caught a Bonito which is apparently not good eating but it looks good in the pic (it’s the one he’s holding. I’m holding a Spanish Mackerel, which someone else caught on a ‘community’ trolling rod on our way out)

On Wednesday night, we went out for seafood and took Chris to a go-kart place. The place is good cause there are karts that even young kids can drive. And those that Chris isn’t tall enough for, he can ride along with dad or I.

On Thursday, we walked down to a nearby bowling alley and bowled a couple games:

Friday, Mom, Chris and I went snorkeling. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. The boat which was packed with 30+ people went to one small place that 3 other snorkeling boats were at too. Needless to say, it was packed with more people than fish. And also there…jellyfish. Stinging jellyfish. So we spent more time avoiding the jellies and other people than watching the fish. But Chris had some fun, so that was good.

And then on Friday, our last day there, we took family pics on the beach and then went out to eat for Italian (Chris wanted spaghetti):

Saturday morning came way too quick. We got on the road at 5:20am and after just 4 blocks we parted ways as I headed west to TX and the parents headed north to NC. We’ll definitely be going back, hopefully next summer.
