Hardwood Floors & More

Been a long time since I posted. I’ll try to catch up.

After Petit Le Mans, I started working on the hardwood floors. What a long project, but boy was it worth it. I finished putting down the wood, but wasn’t quite complete before I had to go home to NC for my holiday visit on Nov 5th.

The first part of my trip was very sad. My grandmother was sick and passed away 5 days after I got to NC. I’m so glad I went home early and got to see her. Here’s the last picture we have of her that was taken during Christmas 06.

Then early morning of Thanksgiving Day, Crystal’s beloved horse Cook died tragically. Needless to say, she was heartbroken. But, she has coped well under the circumstances and I’m proud of how she’s done since.

The rest of the trip was much less somber. I was kept busy outside of my actual job. Building fences, decks, fixing cars, fixing computers, etc. And the last 6 weeks flew by.

I was back home to TX on Jan 15th and walked into a house that was in the middle of the hardwood floor project. I forgot how torn up the house was when I left. So since I’ve been back I’ve straightened up the house and finished the floors (painting baseboard & installing floor transition pieces). Link to the floors can be found on the right, or click here.

Tomorrow I’m hosting a small Super Bowl party for close friends. Should be a good time. My other Grandmother is visiting for 2 weeks starting on the 19th. It’s been a few years since she’s been here, and I’m looking forward to her visit. Just need to figure out how to entertain her besides sitting on the couch watching TV, which is what I normally do!
