Got a bunch done this weekend.

Saturday:

  • Bought tires for the Acura (235/45/17 General Exclaim UHP) from Discount Tire. Tentatively scheduled for mounting tomorrow afternoon. More on that later.
  • Bought windshield wipers and cabin air filters for the Acura. It was past-due on both.
  • Went over to Mark’s to help him finish some random projects to his house to get it ready to sell. Cut/mounted new trim moulding around a door and bathtub, installed a stove vent hood & backsplash, tore out a bunch of shelves in a closet, and moved a ton of boxes from an upstairs room to the garage.
  • Installed new cup pulls for the closet doors. When I replaced all the door knobs a couple years ago, these were the only things that were still brass in the house. Back then you couldn’t buy cup pulls in anything but brass. Well they finally have them in a color that matches my new door knobs (a dark nickel). Only $6 for all six doors.

Sunday: Stayed home today to watch the other 2 NFL playoff games. But still got a lot done around the house

  • Installed the new wipers and cabin air filters. (Had to run out to purchase another filter as I didn’t realize I needed 2).
  • Installed two runs of ethernet cable from the study to behind the TV. This is for the Slingbox I got for Christmas and for the Playstation 2 (or in the future, PS3) to hook into my router.

Weather here has turned cold for the first time this winter. I’ll probably be working remotely since there’s a good chance of ice on the roads tomorrow. And I’ll probably have to reschedule the new tire install for the Acura.
